Everybody is individual, and more, or less confident of their skills - - however from complete beginner to more practiced Artists - we all benefit from continual development.
For some, a 1/1 tutorial is preferred - giving the total focus of the tutor, and step by step guidance to the hints and tips we all use to bring images to life.
Others enjoy a group session - albeit that each participant works to their own level, and at their own pace within the group. Group members get to know others, and exchange ideas offer motivation, and bring confidence to one another whilst benefiting from the ' softer touch of a shared Tutor.
Either way, whether painting a field of poppies, a portrait of you dog or cat, or the view from your window, there are some basic formulas to painting and drawing, which will amaze and surprise you when you find out just how easy it can be to produce your very own masterpiece. .
I am always fascinated by the range of styles we see developing in group classes - given same subjects and medium, each learner will begin to develop their own style and method of interpretation, - putting their own distinct signature on their work.
Last week, within one of the classes Participants were sharing the space of the studio, and offering a range of subjects - I saw seascapes, two Kingfishers, and a Castle - with our Tutor moving between individuals offering guidance, ' as and when required'.
So whatever the learning style or method - there is something for everybody - it's a question of choice, and the main emphasis is on enjoyment. .
